1. What is the Cape May County Discount Health Services Program?

The Cape May County Discount Health Services Program helps to lower the cost of prescription medications, eyeglasses, nutritional supplements, diabetic supplies, LASIK eye surgery, hearing aids, and teeth whitening. Covered services are accessed through the Cape May County RX Card.

Rx Cards are available at the Department of Health at 6 Moore Road, Cape May Court House 08210 and at libraries within the county. You have two options to print a card online. Yes, although the card is offered primarily for Cape May County residents, anyone can use the card. The program is coordinated through United Networks of America and is active in many places in the United States. Check with a pharmacy in the area you are interested in to make sure they are participating. You can also check for out-of-county participating pharmacies online.

10. Are all medications covered and how much is the discount?

Most medications are covered, but you can check online or with your pharmacy to find out what the price would be on your specific medication. The average savings on prescription medications is 30%, but may be as high as 75% on some medications. Over-the-counter medications are unfortunately not covered.
