County and Stone Harbor officials broke ground on Tuesday, September 30, 2015, on the site of the Stone Harbor Branch of the Cape May Library. The new Library will be located at the corner of 96th Street and 2nd Avenue.
The Library will be 9,400 square feet, which includes almost 2,000 square feet of stack space for books, DVDs, audiobooks, video games and other library materials. The exterior of the building will feature seating areas along 96th Street at both ground level and the second floor decks for patrons to grab a chair and a coffee and watch the hustle and bustle of the summer traffic. The building will be clad in low maintenance materials and have high efficiency heating and air conditioning units.
