[ARCHIVED] County to Host Free Healthcare Resource Day

Cape May County residents are invited to attend the annual Healthcare Resource Day on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Wildwoods Convention Center, 4501 Boardwalk, Wildwood, New Jersey. The free event, sponsored by the Cape May County Department of Health under the direction of Freeholder Kristine Gabor, will take place from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Cape May County departments that play a role in meeting community health needs including Crest Heaven Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, the Department of Health and the Office of Aging and Disability Services will be on hand to answer questions and provide information. Also, there will be free screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, fracture risk, lead, and peripheral artery disease provided by the Parish Nurse Program of Cape Regional Medical Center. Additionally, there will be a special presentation at 11 a.m. on joint and bone issues titled, “Improving Flexibility & Mobility” with Virginia Millar, PT, DPT, Director of Cape Regional Physical Therapy.

Plus, there will be more than 40 exhibits from nonprofit organizations, volunteer groups and the private sector including Volunteers in Medicine, Child Abuse Prevention Partnership, Brendan’s Fund, Gilda’s Club, Bridge Counseling Services, Genesis of Cape May, the Cape Visiting Nurse Association, the ARC of Cape May County, NJ Family Care and Cape Regional Medical Center.
