Upper Township 4^th Grader Clay Compton was the guest of honor on April 27 in Mrs. Drewnowski’s homeroom with his classmates for a pizza lunch and a demonstration of the Cape May County Sheriff’s Department K9 Officers. Compton is 1^st Place Winner in the 26^th Annual My County Poster Contest sponsored by the Cape May County Constitutional Officers. Twelve winners of the 26th Annual My County Poster Contest, all fourth graders, were honored in the presence of family and their teachers on Wednesday, April 18 at the Court House in a special ceremony conducted by the Cape May County Constitutional Officers – Surrogate Dean Marcolongo, Sheriff Robert Nolan and County Clerk Rita Marie Fulginiti:

All twelve winners received a tote filled with items and a personalized mug printed with the winner’s artwork. The 1st place winner received a $100.00 gift card ; 2nd and 3rd place winners received $50.00 gift cards. The Constitutional Officers will host a homeroom pizza party for 1^st place winner Clay Compton on April 27.

The annual event is hosted by the Constitutional Officers during April - National County Government Month to bring awareness of the function of county government to fourth graders, who regularly study the topic as part of their curriculum. The winning posters are on display in the Court House Lobby during the month of April to commemorate County Government Month and will be featured on a 2019 color poster calendar distributed to the winners and 2018 fourth grade class.
