Rutgers Cooperative Extension Agriculture and Natural Resources Program Offers Workshop on Home Hydroponics

Cape May Court House – Back by Popular Demand! Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County Agriculture and Natural Resources Program is offering a second workshop this year on Home Hydroponics on Thursday, October 26, 2017. The Home Hydroponics Workshop will take place, rain or shine, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Rutgers Cooperative Extension, 355 Courthouse - South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, New Jersey. This workshop, part of the 2017 "Gardening by the Seasons” series, was originally held in January 2017 and sold out.

Jen Sawyer, Rutgers Master Gardener Coordinator for Cape May County, will be the presenter. Participants will learn the basics of small scale hydroponics, the benefits of growing without soil, and how to grow fresh greens and culinary herbs. Plus, participants will go home with their own starter kits and two plants.

"Hydroponics enables anyone to experience growing fresh herbs and greens even if they don’t have a garden or soil,” said Jenny S. Carleo, Rutgers Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent for Cape May County.

This is a beginner class, therefore, no experience is needed. The cost for this workshop is $25 and includes a lite supper at 5:30 p.m., followed by the program at 6 p.m. Registration is due by October 20, 2017. For more information, please call 609-465-5115, ext. 3607. To register go to http://RU-CMC-ANR.eventbrite.com.
