The Cape May County 4-H Spring Equine Health Clinic is scheduled for Saturday, March 25, 2017. On this date, veterinarians and clinic volunteers travel throughout the county to farms and boarding stables, offering vaccinations to horses at a reduced fee. The clinic is open to all horse and pony owners in Cape May County.
These semi-annual equine health clinics, held each December and March, are cooperative endeavors between local veterinarians from Stepping Stones Veterinary Wellness, LLC and the Rutgers Cooperative Extension 4-H Youth Development Program. They are coordinated under the direction of 4-H Volunteer Nancy Rothenbiller.
Owners are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to properly vaccinate their horses. There are a number of different Vaccine packages being offered this year plus digital Coggins blood tests. Horses receiving Coggins tests need to be clean in order to see markings unless appropriate photographs are provided via email by March 20th. A negative Coggins blood test for Equine Infectious Anemia is required annually by the NJ 4-H Horse Program and at most equine events throughout New Jersey and the nation.

The 4-H Youth Development Program is part of Rutgers Cooperative Extension. 4-H educational programs are offered to all youth, grades K-13, on an age-appropriate basis, without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
