[ARCHIVED] County Hosts Healthcare Resource Day

 Cape May County Freeholder Jeffery Pierson is pleased to invite the public to the county’s annual Healthcare Resource Day to take place on Saturday, April 8 – 2017 at the Wildwoods Convention Center.


The free Healthcare Resource Day sponsored by the Cape May County Health Department will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.


On hand will be key county departments that play a role in meeting community health needs such as Crest Heaven Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and the Office of Aging and Disability Services.


Additionally, there will be free screenings by the Parish Nurse Program of the Cape Regional Medical Center for blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and peripheral artery disease, fracture risk and hearing.



A major highlight of the day will be a presentation by a local acupuncture expert for major health issues;


11:00 a.m. – “Acupuncture: How it Works and How it Can Help” Christopher Curley L.Ac., Director of the New Eastern Health Center.  

There will be more than 40 exhibitors representing various health services provided to county residents.  There will be exhibits from non profit organizations and volunteer groups such as Volunteers in Medicine, NJ Shares, Brendan’s Fund and Gilda’s Club.  Equally important, will be an array of private sector exhibitors including Brookdale of Cape May, and the Bayada, AtlantiCare Medical Center, Family Success Center.  There will also be exhibits on important healthcare services within the county, including, The ARC of Cape May County, NJ Family Care and Cape Regional Medical Center.
