Cape May County Human Resource Director, Jeffrey R. Lindsay, Esq., was awarded a 2016 National Association of Counties (NAC0) Award for his work in managing the county’s employee medical benefit programs. Lindsay and his staff were recognized for their department’s innovative programs that have reduced medical benefits costs resulting in substantial rebates to the county. The success of the program based on the NACo criteria was measured by the $1.5 million saved in health benefits from 2015 to 2016, and the $1.251 million saved in workers' comp claims. Since joining Cape May County government as the Human Resource Director in late 2013, Lindsay has been responsible for personnel matters and has worked to improve training, safety and health programs for county employees. Of the more than 3,000 counties in the U.S., 110 Achievement Awards were presented. Cape May County was recognized in two of the 21 categories, the Human Resource category and the Cape May County Park and Zoo was recognized in the Parks and Recreation category.
