[ARCHIVED] Rutgers Cooperative Extension Ladies Go Pink For Breast Cancer Awareness!

Rutgers Go Pink Cancer Awareness Day

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! The Ladies of Rutgers Cooperative Extension (RCE) in Cape May County got an early jump on showing their support by coming together on September 28th for a worthy cause.

RCE Staff and some of their friends had Pink Hair Extensions added to their hair by Susan Grippen-Kane, of Susie Q’S on Route 50 in the Family Center, Seaville, New Jersey, for Breast Cancer Awareness and also made a donation to benefit the Love of Linda Foundation, Cape May County. Marilou Rochford, Department Head of Rutgers Cooperative Extension, said, “Members of our Extension family are survivors and some are still battling cancer, so we wanted to come together to show our support for Breast Cancer Awareness.” “The event was also a wonderful bonding opportunity for our staff,” added Rochford.

The $220 raised by the ladies of Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County is being donated to the Love of Linda Foundation.

Susie Q’s has been applying Pink Extensions for over six years and has raised nearly $30,000 for Gilda’s Club and the Love of Linda Foundation. Grippen-Kane said, “I was excited when contacted by the ladies of Rutgers to come and help them show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness and raise money for this wonderful cause.”
