Rutgers Cooperative Extension Family and Community Health Sciences will hold the next Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group on Thursday, September 29 from 5:30 to 7p.m. at Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County, 355 Court House-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, New Jersey.
This month’s program will include a special presentation, “Pills to Heroin”, by Lt. Joseph Landis, of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office. The Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office provides the community with a variety of presentations ranging from drug abuse and awareness to internet safety for all ages. “Pills to Heroin” highlights the region’s heroin problem being the result of the abuse of prescription medication. This presentation is a friendly, honest view of the heroin abuse and offers precautions to take to identify warning signs of potential abuse.
Childcare will be provided for the grandchildren. A light supper for the grandparents and grandchildren begins promptly at 5:30p.m. and the program will follow at 6p.m.
Also, Grandparents are invited to attend Coffee Fridays, an informal setting, for grandparents to come learn about resources and support available to them plus share their thoughts and concerns. The next Coffee Fridays session will take place on Friday, September 30th from 10:30 to 11:30a.m. at Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County, 355 Court House-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, New Jersey.
