[ARCHIVED] CAPE MAY COUNTY PROMOTES TAKE BACK DAY

The Cape May County Board of County Commissioners wishes to remind the public that April 22 is the designated TAKE BACK DAY for prescription drugs from 10 A.M. – 2 P.M.

This effort reminds the residents of Cape May County that there is a safe, convenient, and responsible means to dispose of prescription drugs and the importance of doing so.

Cape May County Commissioner Jeffrey Pierson states that there is a drop box located in every police station in the county, as well as the Upper Township Village and Reef Pharmacy in Cape May Court House. “This is such an important effort”, said Pierson. “It is held twice per year in April and October and results in hundreds of pounds of prescription drugs being carefully disposed of and therefore will no longer linger in medicine cabinets where there is a potential for abuse.”

It is important to note that the drugs can be dropped off anonymously and can be taken to the police station at any time of the day.
