Campgrounds

Did you always want to sleep under the stars, but not sure about a camping vacation? Ask some of the families who have discovered campground vacations and they will tell you what a great way it is to spend time with the family and create wonderful memories - and sometimes friendships - that last a lifetime.  Many campgrounds offer fresh water fishing and water activities in private lakes, swimming pools, playgrounds, arcades and mini-golf.  Wi-Fi, showers and laundry facilities are also available.

While there are no campgrounds directly on the beach, there are nearly 50 nestled within the wooded landscape along the mainland areas of Cape May County.  The Jersey Cape has more campsites per square mile than most other resort destination in New Jersey.  With more than 15,000 camp sites that offer something for every level of camper, camping and RV-ing at the Jersey Cape is a perfect fit.   If roughing it isn't your idea of a fun vacation, there are a selection of parks that range from the simple to the luxurious and great locations near ocean beaches, amusement- lined boardwalks and the myriad of attractions to make-up your vacation itinerary.

Just starting out?  Some parks have on-site trailer and cabin rentals that offer the same accommodations as an efficiency motel unit, but with the added benefits of a gated community, access limited to registered guests only, the opportunity to meet other folks with similar interests and a great environment for youngsters to explore new surroundings on their own.

Campgrounds throughout the Jersey Cape offer seasonal campsites for families who are able to go down the Shore as often as they like.  These campers park their RV on-site the entire summer and use it as a second home: often a campsite for the entire summer is less that a one-week shore house rental.  People who rent for the season year after year develop strong family relationships and the children grow up playing with their summer friends, riding bikes, climbing a tree and sitting around a campfire enthusiastically sharing stories of what they did today, who they met and what activities are planned for tomorrow.
