Youth Shelter

About the Shelter
The Youth Shelter provides short term out of home placement in a non-secure setting to youth who are experiencing family problems, are victims of abuse or neglect or are charged with minor acts of delinquency.

The placement allows various social service providers, the youth and the family an opportunity to participate in the development of a plan to address the presenting problem and, in many cases, provides a longer term treatment and rehabilitation strategy.
Requirements
Juveniles must be between the ages of 10 and 17 and referred to the Shelter by an approved admitting agency.  Approved admitting agencies include Mobile Response and Stabilization Services as well as Cape May County Family Court. The Oasis Youth Services Program in Cape May County is operated by the Center for Family Services.
