About the Subcommittee

The County Alliance Steering Subcommittee (CASS) is charged with overseeing the development and implementation of the Municipal Alliance Program in each county. The Municipal Alliance Program is dedicated to developing an array of substance abuse prevention programs that are unique to each town that participates in the project. Each municipality completes a plan and submits it to the CASS for review. In Cape May County there are 4 Municipal Alliances, covering 8 municipalities.

The CASS meets on a quarterly basis and reports its activities to the Cape May County Mental Health Alcohol and Drug Abuse Board. Membership of the CASS is outlined in P.L. 1989, Chapter 51 and requires representation from providers, local law enforcement, schools, business and other interested parties.
