The physical therapist is a member of the rehabilitation team that provides evaluation, treatment, and ongoing reassessment to improve mobility, decrease pain, improve strength and endurance due to a wide variety of diagnoses. The physical therapist provides specialized treatment to assist residents in regaining their prior level of functioning for maximum independence at home or in the long term care setting.
The goal of the specialized therapies is to have the resident reach their highest level of function, with the ultimate goal of discharge back to their homes whenever this is possible. The use of the Rehabilitation kitchen and bathroom training areas prepares residents to make the transition home much easier.
