An island unto itself connected by just a bridge to the communities on Five Mile Island, West Wildwood is a small community where residents and visitors know each other, chat from deck to deck or wave while sailing by. Many of the small vacation homes have been replaced with multi-story houses commanding spectacular views of the inland waterways in and around Grassy Sound that are great for boating, jet skiing, sailing, fishing or crabbing.  An old fashioned 4th of July celebration reinforces that small town feeling, the reason several hundred people live there year round and visitors wish they could.
