2014 Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders Reorganization Meeting
The Reorganization Meeting of the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders took place on January 3, 2014. Freeholder Gerald M. Thornton, who was re-elected in November to serve a 3-year term, was sworn in by U.S. Congressman Frank A. LoBiondo. Freeholder Thornton served as Freeholder from 1976 to 1987 and from 1995 to the present.

Also, E. Marie Hayes, who was elected to her first term as Freeholder in November, was administered the oath of office by Judge Carmen Alvarez, J.A.D. Hayes was appointed to the Freeholder Board in February 2013 to serve the unexpired term of Freeholder M. Susan Sheppard who resigned her seat to become Surrogate of Cape May County.

Additionally at the meeting, Freeholder Thornton was elected Director and Freeholder Leonard C. Desiderio was elected Vice-Director of the Board.
