CMC Veterans’ Bureau Sponsors 31st Valentine’s Trip to Vineland Memorial Home
The Cape May County Veterans’ Bureau sponsored the 31st Valentine’s trip to Vineland Memorial Home on February 11, 2015. Veterans’ organizations and their auxiliaries collected donations from businesses throughout the county to present to hospitalized veterans. Freeholder Director Gerald M. Thornton, who oversees the Veterans’ Bureau, stated, “We are honored to celebrate the 31st year of this program. It provides an opportunity to show our support of our hospitalized veterans. We are so very grateful for their service.”
The trip was enjoyed by everyone in attendance and the veterans at Vineland Memorial Home were overjoyed with the Valentine cards they received from the various schools and school children in Cape May County. The residents also each received a bag with pen/pencil, puzzle books, socks, etc. A check for $1500 was presented to Boris Reissek Jr., CEO, Vineland Memorial Home by Jeff Pierson, CMC Veteran's Interment Officer from the donations that were collected by the various veteran's organizations and businesses throughout Cape May County.
