For the safety of you and your family, put an evacuation plan in place before a storm hits your region.
The Cape May County Department of Emergency Management is urging all County residents to have an evacuation location identified before a severe storm visits our region. Access to traditional shelters is expected to be restricted by regulations from both the State of New Jersey and the American Red Cross.
Now is the time to identify a safe location away from the County provided by family, friends, or a short-term lodging facility shall an evacuation be necessary. Think ahead and identify where your family will go before the storm arrives.
The Cape May County Office of Emergency Management encourages you to add the website www.capemaycountynj.gov to your “favorites” tab on your computer. This is a website that will provide you with up to the minute reports on various emergencies in Cape May County, including storms, floods, blizzards, hurricanes, and other non-weather related emergencies including missing persons. During a prolonged emergency event, this website will continue to provide updates, photos, videos and other essential information.
This website serves to keep Cape May County residents fully updated and educated in the areas of:
Storm and weather information
