How to Obtain a Gold Star Family Member Photo ID
Gold Star Family Member Photo ID Cards are available from the Cape May County Clerk’s Office to the family member* of the member of the armed forces who lost his or her life while on active duty for the United States. This card may be presented to participating merchants/vendors for discounts offered to veterans and Gold Star Family Members. There is no charge for the Gold Star Family Member ID Card.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Cape May County Clerk Gold Star Family Member ID Card the applicant must apply in person at the County Clerk's Office and:
*Be the spouse, domestic partner, partner in a civil union, parent, legal guardian, legal custodian or child (whole, or half blood or by adoption as applicable) of a member of the armed services who lost his or her life on active duty in service to the United States
Be a resident of Cape May County
And present:
- The service member’s Federal DD Form 1300
- and/or Report of Casualty, which identifies the member of the armed forces who died while on active duty for the United States
Discounts
Discounts on goods and services offered to veterans and Gold Star Parents are given at the discretion of the participating merchant/vendor. The Cape May County Clerk makes no representations as to the amount or availability of discounts offered to the Gold Star Parent by using a Cape May County Gold Star Family Member ID Card.
